Puppies!

Emily had a bad cough for a few days, but she was beginning to feel better by the weekend. There were so many things going on in NWAR. I hate that we missed most of them. I know that next year we will make them for sure. She had a little bit of fever, so I decided not to battle the crowds.

She was feeling a little better, so we decided to meet Aunt Rachel and cousin Ava later on at the Promenade. We also checked out the new store Gordman's. The highlight of the day was seeing the new puppies. Rachel and Blake's black lab had 11 puppies (10 male and 1 female). Unfortunately, all the puppies are already sold whenever they get a few weeks older. Emily absolutely loved holding the puppies and named a couple of them: Blackie and Soapie. :) Here's some pictures of her holding them. You can tell by the look on her face that she was in heaven!

Farm Friends

Holding the chick- she was so gentle with them!

Petting a baby bunny

We took Emily to the Farm Friends exhibit at U of A last Thursday. We went after I worked that day. She was a little hesitant at first, but quickly fell in love with the baby chicks and bunnies. She also loved seeing the goats, sheep, horses, pigs, and cows. It was a neat exhibit for this city girl! haha

Princess Party

With the birthday girl!

Emily went to Aubrey's princess party yesterday. It was so much fun because they got to dress up. She decided to be Cinderella. She had a great time at the party. We hope to come over to play again soon!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. It took me all week to recuperate from last weekend! :) I know this blog is for Emily, but I have to pause to show what I did last weekend because it was so much fun! On Friday night, I went out with some friends for a surprise birthday party. Her husband planned this for her big 40th birthday and had a car service pick us all up, then Laura was picked up last. We went to dinner at Bordino's (Yummy!), then she wanted to do karoke. We didn't leave until really late and I had to get up early to go to Hendrix alumni weekend!
It was our 10 year reunion last year, but we all couldn't make it for various reasons. Our dorm that we lived our first 3 years there had a big 50th anniversary party, so we decided to go this year to the alumni weekend (Kaycee, we missed you!). We walked around the campus for over 3 hours. It has changed so much since I went to visit, but some things did not change. I loved Hendrix so much and it is still in my heart. It was a wonderful weekend and with another late night, I was soooo exhausted! I can't wait to take Emily to the campus next time we go through Conway.

WAY TO GO!

Emily is almost completely potty-trained!!! We have gone a week with no accidents!!! I never thought I'd see this day, but I'm so proud of her! I actually won this potty through a local magazine and it came in this week. She loves her new potty. We're still not 100% trained, but she goes all day without accidents. We still put a pull-up on at night, but that is fine for now!

Ridin' in Style!

Don't worry, I put on my helmet Cita and Poppy!

We finally had a gorgeous weekend, so we decided to get out the bikes. We got the bike trailer as a Christmas present from my parents, so we've been anxious to use it! We had a great time riding! We went around the blocks a few times, then stopped at the park down the street from our house. Then, went across the highway (scary, I know) to another big neighborhood. Emily was exhausted after riding so hard that she fell asleep on the way home!

Birthday Parties Galore!

Emily is right by the instructor. She loves the parachute!

Dancing and singing in the mirror

Sorry it has been such a long time since I last posted, but we've been very busy. She's been to 3 parties since last weekend!!! Apparently, all her friends were born this month because we have 2 more planned in a couple of weeks! ;) She has really been enjoying going to them, so now I need to decide if we are going to have a "friend" birthday party this year. We usually have hosted a playgroup for her friends around her birthday and have cupcakes, but maybe I need to do something else this year?? hmmm, I'll have to think about it. I only had my camera at one of the parties though, but it was at a dance place here in town. Emily LOVED it!
She has been going to dance class once a month with the mom's group I'm in, but we may need to look into doing more in the fall. I started taking dance when I was 6 and loved it. I just think she's so young, but most of her friends are already in dance class now. I think it's more of a creative movement class than "real" dance class, until they are 5. Emily is very much into singing and dancing, which are 2 of my favorite things! Maybe she'll be the next Broadway star I always dreamed about becoming! haha
