Ella's first day of preschool (2 year-old class): First School
Ella started in the 2 year-old room a week after Emily started school. She is going to First School T/Th and really loves it so far. Her teachers are Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Sabrina. She has three of her best buds in her class (Caroline, Caylee, and Macey).
First Day of School: 1st Grade!
Emily got a gift certificate to Glitterbox for her birthday, so I thought it would be a fun day to get her nails done before the Open House. The place was very busy and Emily (and Ella) loved it! We met her teacher that night (Mrs. K. Parker). She is going to be a very sweet teacher to Emily and she loves her already!
Emily wanted her hair curly on the first day of school. I rolled her hair with sponge rollers like I did practically every day of my youth. Ha! She loved the way it looked!!! She was very confident that day. Her teacher asked if she was a new student and Emily said "It's me, Emily I just curled my hair". She was very excited that one of her good friends is in her class again this year!

Kansas City Zoo
We went to the Kansas City Zoo Sunday morning before we left town. This is a pretty big zoo. You have to ride a train to the tram station in order to get to the other side. It was pretty spread out, but there were some really neat exhibits like the polar bear and the ski lift safari ride. We also took a boat ride and saw the giraffes really close up. The kangaroos were very close to us too. We had a great day, but it was HOT again. We loved Kansas City and would love to go back soon since it was relatively close for us, but we'll do it in the fall or spring when it's cooler. :)
American Girl Store
Kansas City just got an American Girl store. Emily has been wanting a doll from there, so she saved all her money from her birthday and chores to get one. She went throughout the whole store before she chose the doll that looks like her (complete with freckles). She named her Macey.
Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead
We went to the Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead Saturday morning, but it was still HOT! It was free admission that weekend, but we did get a combo pack to let them do the activities there. They had tons of fun feeding goats, pony rides, hayride, mining, and fishing!

The Crowne Center
We headed to The Crowne Center in Kansas City, MO Friday evening. I really wanted to go to The Plaza, but not as kid-friendly as The Crowne Center. They had a really neat Crayola store that was hands-on. There was a neat restaurant there called Fritz where a train delivered the food. It was a really fun experience, but the food was not the greatest. :) They wanted to head back to the hotel to swim. We had switched to another hotel in Overland Park, KS at this point right outside KC.

T-Rex Cafe
We heard from a few of our friends to go to T-Rex Cafe. It is right down the street from the Great Wolf Lodge. We were VERY excited to receive an gift card to eat there from Uncle Matt and Aunt Neha. The kdis had a great time! Ella was a little scared at first, but she ended up enjoying it. They each picked out a little toy dinosaur too. We had a FUN meal that night!!!
